Café society BA ranks as of one of THE great café cities on the planet, a fact that certainly figured into my decision to stay here! I liked the Café Tolon (left), as it wasn't too far from home, on the Avenida Santa Fe and it had good music, and I loved how the florist's kiosk right outside filled the window with flowers.
And I enjoyed La Pharmacie (middle), a block down the street from my place, after grabbing a copy of La Nacion newspaper to read with my medialunas.
But I especially liked visiting the "café notables," the historic ones in the city. The most famous and oldest (1858) is Café Tortoni on Avenida de Mayo (bottom). |
