High Tech in Canada's Highest Town

It was a bit of a struggle to leave behind the Rockies in brilliant sunshine and do the conference thing. Especially with the keynote speakers telling us to skip sessions and go enjoy the mountains. Nevertheless, I did my best to do my duty.

It was rather a bizarre juxtaposition, talking about the Web in the hotel's baronial halls and accessing Wifi, whilst sitting under sconces and tapestries. But the hotel could sure do coffee breaks: I didn't mind at all the juxtaposition of a laptop in one hand and Devonshire cream and scones in the other. Sometimes the Empire strikes back in grand style.
